One man, a suitcase and a story.
“Julian Noel’s performance is both a tribute to his whakapapa and a gift to the audience, inviting us all to reflect on the stories written in our own bones. Whether you come for the artistry, the history, or the chance to sing along, you’ll leave changed”.

“Truth has a habit of arriving untidy and inconvenient and is often the forge where wisdom is wrought. Freedom is when we can let the scars sing”.
Julian Noel
Stylisitically our guiding influence came from longstanding friend and colleague, Designer, Dr. Dorita Hannah, who introduced us to the magic of the theatre of objects — this single idea opened new levels of storytelling, allowing us to instantly create new worlds using simple kitchen items.
Through Dorita’s input we ended up with: one man, a suitcase, table, three chairs — and a story.
It ain’t all deep and dour. There’s resilience, laughter, and a few badly sung songs.
After the show, people stay, drink tea eat scones and talk.
No one leaves untouched — or hungry.
